Two Essential Tools: Tuner and Metronome
Here is the coolest online tuner I have ever seen! It was created by—and is used with the kind permission of—the folks at Wimpy Player.
And here are three metronomes. There are plenty of them out there, but I like these three the best.
The first one is just no nonsense, set the number, off you go!
The second one is almost like a drum machine! You can program different values into it and do all sorts of crazy stuff! I hope you like it, too.
And the third one—Note: this one is NOT free—allows you to program a steadily increasing tempo, from anything to anything making it probably the best thing since sliced bread for practicing scales!
(Hang on... since when did sliced bread help you practice scales?)
Nevermind! You will be practising a lot of scales. Probably more than you think. And probably sooner than you think, too! So it's worth a wee look, I reckon. I like it. Very useful.
These tools clearly rock so you should probably go ahead and bookmark this page, eh? Actually, why not Digg or Stumble this while you're at it? I'd really, really appreciate it!
